The article is devoted to the analysis of the current legislation and the practice of its implementation in the sphere of wood management by the regional offices of the Federal Agency for State Property Management (henceforth — the Agency). The author analyzes the powers of the Agency and comes to the conclusion that its existing powers are not enough to ensure the legality of wood turnover and the maximum profitability of the budget of the Russian Federation from wood sale. The author also touches on topical issues of the wood turnover regulatory improvement, including in the issues of international experience. Moreover, the author uses practical examples to offer a number of organizational and administrative solutions that ensure the preservation of wood as well as the increasing market demand during public sale.
