This article considers the peaceful settlement of the dispute as one of the directions for improving civil procedural legislation in the framework of the ongoing judicial reform. The author analyzes the tasks of civil proceedings. The conclusion is drawn that it is necessary to adjust the content of article 2 of Code of Civil Procedure of Russia in order to consolidate the peaceful settlement of the dispute as a new task, as well as the consequences of its solution.
