Nowadays, the problems of regulating economic activities and achieving a balance of socio-economic development of the territory and nature conservation are the focus of attention of researchers. The purpose of this study is a comparative analysis of the legal regulation of various types of economic activities related to the use of water biological resources. As a result of the study, it was found that fishing activities are regulated on the basis of a combination of contract law and permits. On the other hand, construction and other economic activities in the water area and the banks of water bodies related to the use of water biological resources are regulated on the basis of permits. At the same time, the mechanisms for regulating economic activities in the use of water biological resources need further development on the basis of contract law aimed at reducing administrative barriers and introducing fisheries agreements into regulatory practice.
