The article analyzes the existing theoretical approaches to the definition of the concept of ‘national interests’, highlights its features, formulates the author’s definition. It is concluded that, despite different interpretations of this concept, in its essence a unifying vector can be traced — these are interests that generate the prospects for the development of the nation, form the paradigm of state progress.
