This article is aimed at reviewing the fundamental areas of control by the Ministry of internal Affairs bodies over private detective and security activities. The author notes a number of problematic aspects present in the legislative acts of this sphere. The problem of imperfection of the legal framework for the implementation of private detective and security activities in the Russian Federation at the appropriate level remains relevant.
