Each of the cultures, which is part of the generic concept of «North Caucasus», is an independent phenomenon and functions as both an ethnodifferentiation and an ethnoinfiguration factor. The communicative functions of culture in the North Caucasus were characterized by tradition, regulation and collectivity. The article considers the main traditions, norms and values of collective activity of ethnic groups.
