The article deals with the structure of the semantic field, using the lexical units denoting the emotion of sadness in the Russian language. The principles of choosing the material for the research are described. The attempt to structurize the lexical units, which denote emotions in the Russian language, is made to get the opportunity to conduct any further analysis.
