The article presents an analysis of individual views of scientific thought on the definition of the concepts of tradition and ritual. Revealing the essential purpose of traditions and rituals that fill the entire area of service activities of the personnel of the internal affairs bodies with educational meaning, the author focuses on their special role in solving multifaceted law enforcement tasks, which are based on the commitment of each employee to the experience of previous generations.
