This article provides an analysis of the statistical material on distance learning introduced into Russian education during the pandemic in the spring of 2020. On the basis of the materials, the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning in the education system of the Russian Federation, factors that hinder the development of distance education in Russia and its prospects are revealed.
