The work market in Geoscience will be deeply affected when the Brazilian economic growth be restored. Economic and political decisions can promote changes on the present scenaries. From the environmental conscience it is emerging a new ethics trending to a companionship where Man is recognized as an integer part of Nature without to feel special. The main trends in Geosciences comprise two linked professional fields: (a) the development of infrastructure – including prospecting for oil, gas, water and minerals as well as activities stimulating the productive economic sectors – and (b) the preservation of life and related infrastructure. Both branches must answer quite fast to strategical decisions. They are complementary and aim to develop harmonious relationships between Man and the environment. So, it is useless to define any relative priority between them.
