The idea of mathematical modeling has an important educational function and has a far-reaching impact on students’ learning and growth. Based on this, this paper studies in detail the application of mathematical modeling thought in the teaching of practical problems in junior middle schools, aiming at improving students’ problem-solving efficiency, cultivating students’ mathematical literacy and continuously improving students’ mathematical learning ability.
