This paper introducing a review of the recent three-dimensional numerical and experimental researches on the laminar natural convection heat transfer inside cavities. Focusing on the previous research’s cavity geometry specially the regular shapes both simple or complex shapes. A wide variety of geometries which having different inclinations, inserted bodies and boundary conditions were presented and discussed. The working fluids of the cavities were also reviewed, classical fluids, nanofluids and else. It can be concluded that there is a gap in the research region of the three-dimensional numerical studies in complex cavities. And generally, lake in the experimental studies for all cavity geometries classical or complex were appointed.
