RESUMO  O presente trabalho busca apresentar a existência e funcionamento dos programas de Justiça Itinerante no Brasil para verificar em que medida a Lei nº 12.726 de outubro de 2012 contribui para um incremento de políticas públicas de acesso à justiça e para uma maior institucionalização dos programas de Justiça itinerante existentes. O escopo deste trabalho recai sobre efetividade de direitos fundamentais, sobretudo em relação ao acesso à justiça que, nas democracias liberais do século XXI, cumpre um papel importante de garantir a efetividade dos demais direitos fundamentais materiais. De forma analítica, os dados dos relatórios técnicos do Instituto de Pesquisas Econômicas e Aplicadas (IPEA) no âmbito da pesquisa “Democratização do Acesso à Justiça e efetivação de Direitos: a Justiça Itinerante no Brasil” foram cruzados com outros dados sobre a temática, de forma a apresentar uma avaliação sobre a possibilidade das modificações legislativas recentes contribuírem para um aperfeiçoamento dos programas de Justiça Itinerante no Brasil. Palavras-chave: Justiça Itinerante; Juizados Especiais Itinerantes; Brasil.   ABSTRACT This paper presents the existence and operation of Itinerant Justice programs in Brazil and verifies the extent to Law nº12/726 of October 2012 contributes to an increase of public policies on access to justice and contributes to greater institutionalization of existing itinerant justice programs. The scope of this work is about effectiveness of fundamental rights, particularly in relation to access to justice that, in the liberal democracies of the twenty-first century, plays an important role in ensuring the effectiveness of other fundamental rights materials. Data from IPEA technical reports under the search "Democratization of access to justice and effective rights: Itinerant Justice in Brazil" were crossed with other data in order to present an evaluation of the possibility of recent legislative changes contribute to an improvement of Itinerant Justice programs in Brazil. Keywords: Itinerant Justice; Special Courts; Brazil.
