The article is devoted to the study of the content and results of the transformations of Emperor Alexander I. An attempt is made to abandon the traditional division of reforms into periods in favor of the study of the sources of known software installations. Highlighted the determining role of ideas of the tutor of the Grand Duke - F. C. La Harpe. The main attention is paid to studying of separate directions of reforms of long reign. The goals, the course of transformations and their results are compared.
