<b>"I Already Have a Name" – Itineraries of Trans Men in Search of Respect</b>

My purpose in this article is to start from some narratives of trans men about their experiences and expectations regarding the search for recognition of their gender identities and their names in multiple spheres, such as in the family, in the relations of friendship, in educational institutions, in the work universe and in medical care spaces. Thus, I construct an ethnographic narrative that, although seeking to be as close as possible to the reports of the subjects interviewed, tries to point to some elements that speak of the gender transition as a process that is not only individual, but always involves other people, in various contexts, with whom these subjects coexist. I problematize these elements from an appropriation of the closet metaphor, which appears in the reports in the form of a "second exit from the closet" as something structuring of certain symbolic repertoires mobilized by these men to make sense of their trajectories. I point out some of the itineraries and strategies these men throw in order to get recognition of their names in these multiple spheres, which also involves visibility/hiding negotiations at many occasions. Finally, I bring some considerations about the recent approval, by the Federal Supreme Court (STF), of the change of civil records by trans people in Brazil without the need for reports and/or surgeries “Eu Já Tenho Nome” – Itinerários de Homens Trans em Busca de Respeito Meu objetivo nesse artigo é partir de algumas narrativas de homens trans a respeito de suas experiências e expectativas em relação à busca pelo reconhecimento de suas identidades de gênero e de seus nomes em múltiplas esferas, tais como na família, nas relações de amizade, em instituições educacionais, no universo do trabalho e em espaços de atenção médica. Dessa forma, construo uma narrativa etnográfica que, ainda que buscando estar o mais próximo possível dos relatos dos sujeitos entrevistados, tenta apontar para alguns elementos que falam da transição de gênero como um processo que não é apenas individual, mas envolve sempre outras pessoas, em contextos variados, com quem tais sujeitos convivem. Problematizo tais elementos a partir de uma apropriação da metáfora do armário, que aparece nos relatos na forma de uma “segunda saída do armário” como algo estruturante de certos repertórios simbólicos mobilizados por esses homens para construírem sentido a suas trajetórias. Aponto alguns dos itinerários e estratégias de que esses sujeitos lançam mão a fim de obter o reconhecimento de seus nomes nessas múltiplas esferas, o que também envolve negociações em torno da visibilidade/ocultação em muitos momentos. Por fim, trago algumas ponderações em torno da recente aprovação, pelo Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), da alteração de registros civis por parte de pessoas trans no Brasil sem a necessidade de laudos e/ou de cirurgias.médica.
