Este artigo é um resumo do número de índios em missões no Centro-Oeste no fim do período colonial, quando os portugueses estavam preocupados em “civilizar e cristianizar” as nações indígenas “hostis” que eles tentaram instalar nas missões Luso-Brasileiras, sem muito sucesso devido a resistência dos povos indígenas ao trabalho forçado e tratamento como escravos nas missões.

Abstract: this article is a summary of the number of mission Indians in the Center West at the end of the colonial period, when the Portuguese were preoccupied in “civilizing and Christianizing” the “hostile” indigenous nations that they tried to install in Luso-Brazilian missions without great success due to the resistance of the indigenous peoples to forced labor and treatment like slaves in the missions.
