Soil moisture depends on the soil physical characteristics, being a determinant factor in infiltration and runoff processes. The principal aim of this paper is the analysis of soil moisture in relation with porosity in a small drainage basin representative of the Extremenian dehesa. The results show a similar spatial distribution of soil moisture, density and porosity. The correlatían between porosity and moisture is high. Nevertheless, the existence of surface crusts and concavities filled with sediments disturb this relation.
