Los concordatos difícilmente encuentran encaje en ordenamientos democráticos. Ello es así porque no es posible deducir de los presupuestos ideológicos de la jerarquía católica contenidos para el pacto que mejoren la garantía que el Estado pluralista proporciona al derecho de libertad religiosa. A través de un acercamiento a varias cláusulas de los acuerdos vigentes con la Iglesia católica comprobamos la importancia capital de una lectura de los acuerdos integrada en la Constitución y ajena a los postulados eclesiales.   Concordats do not fit well in democratic systems.
