En este trabajo pretendo hacer un balance de nuestro conocimiento sobre Lucus Augusti, una de las tres principales ciudades del Noroeste peninsular, capital de un conventus iuridicus. Centrándome en tres cuestiones concretas -el urbanismo, el territorio y las estructuras socio-políticas- trataré de mostrar los problemas y los límites de nuestra investigación así como las posibilidades de avanzar en el conocimiento de la ciudad In this paper I will try to evaluate our knowledge of Lucus Augusti, one of three main cities of North-western Hispania, the head of a conventus iuridicus.
