This article briefly describes the characteristics of the most typical poetry from the Classic Japanese Literature. It also gives data about the influence of this poetic modality on the Hispanic Literatures, particularly on the Spanish and Catalan ones. In the final part of this article ave try to explain some of the differences between the original Japanese model and the Japanese models produced by several authors from the two peninsular Hispanic Literatures mentioned above
