Miradas cruzadas

En las literaturas francófonas (la del Magreb, Africa y la de las islas del Caribe y Guayanas que hoy tratarnos), la lengua va a constituir, junto con la colonización, la mayor obsesión temática de estas literaturas. ¿Y por qué la lengua? Porque es la que preside el mismo destino de estas literaturas francófonas que han nacido dentro de una grave y específica conyuntura. en el curso de la Historia: violación de la memoria de un pueblo al que hicieron abortar una adolescencia dolorosa. Pero de estos escritores francófonos fluyen páginas que tienen sabor a infancia, sabor a ese primer nacimiento de una algarabía sonora, páginas que sirven, también, de vehículo en el conocimiento de esas sociedades aborígenes. In French Literatures (those of the Maghreb, Africa and those of the -Caribbean and Guayana's islands that we study today), the language goes to constitute, joinecl to the colonization, the main thematic obsession of these literatures. And why the language? Because it is the one which presides over the same fate of these French Literatures which were born inside of a critical specific juncture, in the course of History: violation of the People's memory forcing it to abort a painful adolescence. But from these French writers flow pages which have a childhood flavour, a flavour to this first birth of a sonorous gabble, pages that serve, too, like a way in the knodwledge of these indigenous societies.
