Abstrak. Limbah organik merupakan limbah yang volumenya paling besar dalam mencemari lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan senyawa organik pada air permukaan di sekitar pasar tradisional dan TPA di Kabupaten Merauke, yang tercemar limbah organik. Tingkat pencemaran air permukaan ini diperlukan untuk menentukan metode penanganan yang tepat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa parameter pencemaran BOD5, COD, Cr, NO3-N, NH3, PO4, Cd, SO4, dan klorin masing-masing berkisar 33-143 mg/l, 81-585 mg/l, 0,011-0,048 mg/l, 1,7-9,96 mg/l,  1,93-257,60 mg/l, 0,633-43,16 mg/l,  0,005-0,064,  18-3149 mg/l, dan  0,0113 mg/l. Analysis of Organic Compounds Content of Surface Water Polluted in Merauke Abstract. Organic waste is the largest waste which is contaminates the environment. This research is aimed to know the organic compound contain of surface water around local market and landfill (TPA) in Merauke regency. The level of pollution is needed to determine the proper treatment method. The results show that contamination parameters BOD5, COD, Cr, NO3-N, NH3, PO4, Cd, SO4and the level of Chlorin range from 33-143 mg/l, 81-585 mg/l, 0.011-0,048 mg/l, 1,7-9,96 mg/l,  1,93-257,60 mg/l, 0,633-43,16 mg/l,  0,005-0,064,  18-3149 mg/l, dan  0,0113 mg/l respectively.
