Abstrak. Masyarakat Suku Batak di Kecamatan Sipirok telah lama memanfaatkan tumbuhan berguna untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari. tetapi sayangnya pengetahuan etnobotani ini mulai menghilang di generasi sekarang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan jenis tumbuhan berguna dan menganalisis manfaatnya bagi Masyarakat Suku Batak di Kecamatan Sipirok. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kecamatan Sipirok, Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan, Provinsi Sumatera Utara pada bulan Desember 2020-Maret 2021. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa Tumbuhan berguna yang dimanfaatkan masyarakat suku Batak di Kecamatan Sipirok adalah sebanyak 164 jenis yang tergolong ke dalam 56 suku. Pemanfaatan tumbuhan dibagi menjadi 16 kelompok penggunaan yaitu sebagai bahan pangan 88 jenis, obat-obatan 84 jenis, pakan ternak 11 jenis, aromatik 5 jenis, pewarna 6 jenis, bahan minuman 9 jenis, bahan kontruksi 13 jenis, bahan bakar 8 jenis, kerajinan 9 jenis, kegiatan adat 18 jenis , tali 6 jenis, pestisida/racun 6 jenis, barang ekonomi 5 jenis, penaung/pembatas sawah 3 jenis, tanaman hias 15 jenis, dan pengunaan lain 7 jenis.Ethnobotany Knowledge of Batak Tribe in Sipirok District, North SumateraAbstract. The Batak people in Sipirok District have long used useful plants to meet their daily needs. but this knowledge of ethnobotany is starting to disappear in the current generation. The purpose of this study was to obtain useful plant species and benefits for the Batak Tribe in Sipirok District. This research was conducted in Sipirok District, South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province in December 2020-March 2021. This study used the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method. The results showed that the useful plants used by the Batak people in Sipirok District were 164 species belonging to 56 family. Utilization of plants is divided into 16 use groups, namely as food ingredients 88 species, medicines 84 species, animal feed 11 species, aromatic 5 species, dyes 6 species, beverage ingredients 9 species, construction 13 species, fuel 8 species, crafts 9 species , 18 species of traditional activities, 6 species of rope, 6 species of pesticides/poisons, 5 species of economic goods, 3 species of shade/field barrier, 15 species of ornamental plants, and 7 species of other uses.
