The article analyzes the concepts, types and specifics of educational migration. Special attention is paid to educational migrants studying in Russian universities. Foreign students are seen as a new social community. Groups of educational migrants studying in Russian universities are separated into separate specific social communities that have all the characteristics of a social group. The study analyzes the emergence of a new social community in the educational field of Russian universities.
