I Festival de Vídeos Digitais e Educação Matemática : Uma Classificação

Neste artigo será discutido o processo de classificação dos vídeos participantes da primeira edição do Festival de Vídeos Digitais e Educação Matemática visando a análise das tendências que giram em torno das produções submetidas ao evento. O I Festival foi criado como uma ação do projeto “Vídeos Digitais na licenciatura em Matemática a Distância” com o intuito de promover a produção colaborativa de vídeos, por professores e estudantes, que expressam ideias matemáticas, além de estabelecer um lócus para a interação entre estudantes do Ensino Superior e da Educação Básica. Em sua primeira edição foram submetidos 121 vídeos ao Festival. A abordagem metodológica adotada foi qualitativa, considerando o caráter descritivo da pesquisa, o interesse particular no processo, além da realização de uma análise indutiva dos dados. A classificação dos vídeos foi realizada a partir de sua observação repetitiva, precedida da descrição de eventos críticos, estes últimos relacionados aos recursos utilizados pelos estudantes para transmitir a mensagem mediante a produção de significados. Tais recursos são definidos como modos na Semiótica Social, abordagem teórica que fundamenta este estudo. A codificação emergente resultou em quatro grupos, nos quais os 121 vídeos estão inseridos, intitulados Vídeo narrativa, Videoaula, Vídeo artístico e Vlog. A organização dos vídeos em grupos fornece subsídios para uma discussão sobre as principais tendências do I Festival traçando interesses dos estudantes com relação às metodologias utilizadas para trabalhar conceitos matemáticos. Além disso, os resultados levam a uma discussão sobre a visão que os estudantes têm da Matemática.   Palavras-chave: Multimodalidade. Semiótica Social. Tecnologias Digitais.   Abstract In this article will be discussed the classification process of the videos participating in the first edition of the Festival of Digital Videos and Mathematics Education aiming to analyze the trends that revolve around of these productions. O I Festival was created as an action of the project “Digital videos in distance learning Mathematics” with the intention of promoting the collaborative production of videos by teachers and students, who express mathematical ideas, as well as establishing a locus for interaction between students of all levels of education. In its first edition were submitted 121 videos to the Festival. The methodological approach adopted was qualitative, considering the descriptive character of the research, the interest in the process, besides the accomplishment of an inductive analysis of the data. The classification of the videos was made from their repetitive observation preceded by the description of critical events, the latter related to the resources used by the students to transmit the message through the production of meanings. These resources are defined as Modes in Social Semiotics, the theoretical approach that underlies this study. The emerging coding resulted in four groups in which the videos are inserted, titled Narrative Video, Video lessons, Artistic Video and Vlog. The organization of the videos provides subsidies for a discussion about the main trends of the I Festival by tracing students’ interests in relation to the methodologies used to work on mathematical concepts. In addition, the results lead to a discussion about the students' view of Mathematics.   Keywords: Multimodality. Social Semiotics. Digital Technologies.
