O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar os eventos ocorridos durante um dos maiores escândalos financeiros da história do Brasil, o caso Pan-Americano. Para isso, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica acerca dos fatos ocorridos e noticiados pela mídia no 2º semestre de 2010 com o objetivo de identificar a sistemática da fraude bilionária ocorrida na instituição financeira, o posterior desdobramento da crise e seu desfecho. De modo introdutório, realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica acerca dos principais temas que envolvem a auditoria e o controle interno nas organizações financeiras.Palavras-chave: Auditoria. Controle Interno. Fraude. Pan Americano.AbstractThis study aims to analyze the events that occurred during one of the biggest financial scandals of Brazil’s history, the Pan-americano case. For this, a literature search was carried out about the events that occurred and reported by the media in the 2nd half of 2010 with the objective of identifying the systematic billion-dollar fraud that occurred in the financial institution, the subsequent crisis development and its aftermath. In a introductory way, a literature search was performed on the main topics involving the auditing and internal control in financial organizations.Keywords: Auditing. Internal control. Scam.
