Biopolítica e subjetivação em Ensaio sobre a cegueira, de José Saramago / Biopolitics and Subjectivation in Blindness of José Saramago

Resumo: Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar o espaço em Ensaio sobre a cegueira a partir da noção de biopolítica; notadamente busca-se evidenciar os mecanismos de controle que aprisionam as personagens em um espaço de exceção. Procura-se também analisar as formas de resistência frente aos mecanismos de dominação biopolítica, notadamente o modo como as personagens transformam a dor do aprisionamento e da degradação humana em formas de organização coletiva com a gestão dos espaços, distribuição de tarefas e a tentativa de fortalecimento psicológico a partir do uso da memória e da oralidade. Como forma de oferecer subsídios para uma interpretação a respeito de categorias abstratas como poder e morte na obra de José Saramago, recorre-se a discussões fundamentais propostas por teóricos da filosofia política sobre o conceito de biopolítica, mais especificamente Foucault e Agamben.Palavras-chave: biopolítica; subjetivação; Saramago; poder.Abstract: This article aims to analyze the space in Blindness on the notion of biopolitics; notably it seeks to highlight the control mechanisms that imprison the characters in an exception space. It also seeks to analyze the forms of resistance to the mechanisms of biopolitical domination, notably the way the characters transform the pain from human imprisonment and degradation into forms of collective organization with the management of spaces, the distribution of tasks and the attempt to strengthen them, through the use of memory and orality. As a way of providing support for an interpretation of abstract categories such as power and death in José Saramago’s work, we resort to fundamental discussions proposed by political philosophy theorists about the concept of biopolitics, specifically Foucault and Agamben.Keywords: biopolitics, subjectivation, Saramago, power.
