Orthopedic morbidity and organization of specialized care for children in Saint Petersburg

Demographic indices, structure and dynamics of orthopaedic morbidity in children and adolescents of St. Petersburg are presented. During 10 years (from 1991) total number and the number of primary visits in connection with osseous-muscular diseases increased 2,5-3 times. In children the rate of orthopaedic pathology among total morbidity increased from 0.7 to 2.1% and in adolescents from 8,2 to 16%o. The problems of organization of specilaized outpatient care as well as hospital and rehabilitation care for the children with loco-motor system pathology were considered.
