Despite all the published prescriptions, lists, memoirs and articles touching upon censors activity in the 1920s Soviet cinema censorship has not been am ply described in cinema studies. The article focuses upon the censorship machine used to control the distribution of foreign films prevailing in the first decade of the Soviet period.
