The given article appeals to the work of M. Yampolskiy "Discourse and Narration" based on a detailed analysis of A. Herman's film "My Friend Ivan Lapshin" Starting from the conclusions made by M.Yampolskiy and invoking Herman's next film "Krustalyov, Mashinu!" the author investigates how the change in the discourse strategy can inluence the inal aesthetic result
