Our experience of treatment of more than 4000 patients with acute paraproctitis testifies that rectal foreign bodies as a cause of pararectal abscesses occur in 0.6-0.8% of cases. Gradual onset of purulent complication should be noted from the peculiarities of course and clinical picture. During the first 1-2 days the patients felt discomfort and burning in the anus area and then purulent process with local and general manifestations developed.
