Complications of infectious and inflammatory nature in patients with diabetes mellitus often determine the prognosis of the disease. In their development, along with disturbed metabolic processes, a known role is played by changes in nonspecific protection and immunological reactivity mechanisms of the body. The study of the state of humoral and cellular immunity in diabetes mellitus is due to the fact that the accompanying infectious-inflammatory process is characterized by a more severe course and difficult to treat.
