As many as 42 children with the Fallots tetrad aged 3 months to 9 years, 32 (78%) children up to 3 yeaes were examined and operated in the cardiac surgery department of the Children Medical Center of Kazan from 1995 to 1998. The palliative operations were performed in 30 patients. The radical correction of the Fallots tetrad was performed in 17 patients, it was repeated in 5 children in terms from 1 to 3 years after the previously performed palliative operations. Mortality was not high. In various age groups the differentiated approach taking into account the initial state gravity makes it possible to obtain good result? in the treatment of one of the most dangerous congenital heart diseases. Urgent palliative operations make it possible to save life of patients of early age and to prepare them for radical operations.
