The aim of the work was to find out peculiarities of energy metabolism in polymorphonuclear leukocytes and blood monocytes of patients with viral hepatitis. We studied cytochemical activity of succinate dehydrogenase, lactate dehydrogenase and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. We examined 95 patients with viral hepatitis aged 17-42, 23 of them had viral hepatitis B. As our study did not reveal any significant differences of cytochemical parameters in patients with viral hepatitis A and B, hereinafter we will use the term "viral hepatitis" without mentioning the type of the disease.
