The author suggests a simple way of treating Giemsa paint to increase its coloring ability. This method consists in adding serum, drop by drop, with constant shaking, to the basic paint in order to obtain a homogeneous mixture. The resulting thin precipitate does not harm the color further. The optimal amount of serum added is equal to one tenth of the total amount of paint that is to be improved.
