The author describes 6 cases where on the surface affected by this form of lupus a squamous cell carcinoma developed. In three cases, irritation of the skin with X-rays seems to have played a role in the occurrence of cancer; in the other cases, other irritating therapeutic measures and a chronic inflammatory process played a role.
