At the opening of the Congress, 24/VII, after the solemn ceremony of handing over the gold chain with the medal by the former chairman of the First International Congress to the present chairman, reports were heard on the question of teaching and specializing in radiology in 23 countries. Prof. Nemenov (Leningrad) spoke on behalf of the Soviet roentgenologists. All of these reports suggested the necessity of compulsory teaching of radiology in higher medical schools. All in all 192 reports were presented at the Congress. 72 of them were divided in sections and subsections as follows: 72 reports on Roentgen Diagnostics, 51 on Roentgen and Radiotherapy, 30 on Biology and 39 on Physics and Electrology.
