An attempt is made to explain the origin of the tremor of hydatids in echinococcus by Emm. Kondoleon and E. Dragonas (Zentrlblatt f. Chir. 1933. No. 36) by the difference in the specific gravity of the contents of the cysts. This phenomenon depends on the viscosity of the contents, its tension and the thickness and elasticity of the cyst walls.
