Kosima S., Magara M. and Azuhata K. (Nippon Fujinkagakkai Zassi 1932, 7-12), having examined the bacteriological vaginal secretion of newborns immediately after childbirth and day after day thereafter, received some country cottages about the type of bacteria and the time of their appearance, and namely: 1) the acidity of the vaginal secretion of newborns fluctuates between Ph 4.0 and 6.0. 2- Already 24 hours after the ambassador of childbirth, entero- and staphylococci and coli-bacilli appear in the vaginal secretion, and from the 2nd day they are present in almost 100% of cases; lactic acid bacilli appear later (from the 3rd day). With the appearance of the latter, cocci and Coli-bacilli decrease in number and disappear.
