
Inflammatory processes of the maxillofacial region in patients with diabetes mellitus

We examined 110 patients (48 men, 62 women) with diabetes mellitus aged 20 to 60 years and older. Mild diabetes was diagnosed in 5 (4.5%), mediumin 30 (27.3%), moderate in 43 (39.1%), severe in 32 (29.1%) patients. Moderate to severe diabetes was observed mainly in people over 50 years of age. Concomitant diseases were detected mainly in patients of the older group. More often than others, cardiovascular and gastrointestinal diseases, osteochondrosis, arthritis, and scurvy were detected in one patient.
