Despite this, as well as the very dangerous, sometimes fatal bleeding that accompanies rupture of the spleen, diagnostic errors are not uncommon. Of particular difficulty is the diagnosis of rupture of the spleen, when there is a light interval between the injury, often minor, and the onset of severe internal bleeding. Sometimes the light interval is several days, sometimes months (Yu. Ya. Kulik).
