Pertussis hyperimmune -globulin made by Kazan Scientific Research Institute of Experimental Medicine is a specific drug. Its effectiveness has been studied in 56 out of 120 sick children. It has been found that it has a beneficial therapeutic effect in uncomplicated whooping cough, reduces the severity and duration of the course of pertussis infection. It is recommended for use in severe whooping cough, mainly in children of "high risk" (under the age of one year and older in the presence of a burdened premorbid background).
