For the first time, French urologists drew attention to the diagnostic value of the study of semen in gonorrhea, and Lebreton in this way could state the presence of gonococci in 75%, Barbeillon in 72%, Le Fug in 36%. D. M. Leibfreid (Urology, 1925, No. 9), by inoculating sperm on ascites agar, obtained gonococci in 24% of persons who had gonorrhea in the past.
