Haselhorst (Zentr. F. Chir., 1926, no. 25) gives 2 cases of intestinal obstruction, caused in one case by figs, in the other by dried fruit. Depending on the type, quality, and quantity of food taken and the possibility of the formation of toxins, various degrees of ileus ъa can develop, according to the author, ranging from slight narrowing to severe.
