The question of polyposis of the stomach becomes particularly important because it can be considered proven that polyps are a precancerous gastric disease. A. V. Melnikov points out: "At present there are no authors, except Freidley, who would doubt the possibility of developing cancer from a polyp. Ratner believes that all 100% polyps are "potentially malignant."С. С. Weil writes, "A gastric polyp is tantamount to cancer - cancer will be."
