Currently, commissurotomy for left ventricular orifice narrowing is increasingly used with significant success. There is considerable literature on indications and contraindications for surgical treatment of mitral stenosis, but there is still no unity of opinion, especially in patients with severe circulatory insufficiency.This article presents our observations and considerations on the diagnosis of left ventricular stenosis, indications for its surgical treatment, as well as on some issues of surgical tactics in this operation.
