From the rich material collected by the author (230 cases over the last 20 years), it is clear: 1) that uterine rupture affects mainly multiparous; 2) that the reasons for the ruptures are very diverse; 3) that the percentage of complete ruptures to incomplete ones is 4: 1; 4) that cases, left without any cure, gave the worst results; 5) that the best results were obtained with the use of drainage and 6) that quite good results (48% recovery) were also obtained with laparotomy.
