The author makes the first attempt not by speculative, but by an empirical way to solve the controversial issue of which moments determine the shape of the bone pelvis. The systematic external measurements of the pelvis produced by him for this purpose in 120 individuals of both sexes and all ages from one to twenty years, led to the following results.
