Antipyrine was offered by Chouppe in 1877 against painful contractions after childbirth. Since then, Rivire, Touin, Philips, Gubert, Roncaglia, Tenin, Pinzani, Boissard studied the effect of antipyrine on the composition and separation of milk and came to very different conclusions.
