Acromegaly - a neuroendocrine pathology, caused by chronic overproduction of growth hormone. Chronic overproduction of somatotropin and insulin growth factor (IGF) is clinically expressed in gigantism or acromegaly. Acromegaly is accompanied by various metabolic disorders, lesions of cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
